gallery Dog Lake via Butler Fork

How have we never hiked this trail before? Not sure how I feel about the description though, 3-miles one-way with only 1,700 feet elevation gain? This trail was super tough today, but yesterday was leg day so that could seriously be a contributing factor. Though I think you climb most of that 1,700 in the first mile!! That might be hyperbole, but you are definitely climbing that first mile and after that our legs were shot. Gorgeous hike. We already plan to return when fall colors show up because it will be mind blowing!!
