On Thursday after work, we drove from Provo to Torrey. Luckily we didn’t hit any deer driving at night even though there were plenty of opportunities. The airbnb place we got was just perfect. The cozy log cabin was in the heart of Torrey, but it was quiet and peaceful. We woke up on Friday and headed for Capitol Reef NP. With zero plans, we just started to explore the area. Fruita is at the heart of Capitol Reef and we stopped to explore the orchards and historic farm buildings. While wandering around, we found the Fremont River Trail. It was only 1.3 miles to the end, so we started our morning hike with that. It was a beautiful trail with great sweeping views of the river. We had lunch in a picnic area under big cottonwoods.
