Somedays are always a bit dodgy for going out on an adventure. Today was one of those days. Tired. Sore. Not sure if the weather was going to cooperate. But it turned out to be the best day ever. We headed up Mill Creek Canyon. It was already turning into a parking lot, so we pulled into the first place we could find instead of trying to go all the way to the end of the road. I’ve snowshoed along portions of the pipeline trail, but we’ve never hiked towards Elbow Fork. The trail was perfect. There was just enough snow that made wearing snowshoes necessary, but not so much that it was difficult. There was one or two people that blazed the trail before us, so we always knew where we were going, but it was basically pristine untouched virgin trail. The weather was amazing, not too hot and not too cold. It was also partly sunny and partly cloudy. You cannot imagine how great it is to have sunbeams light up the trail. The mountains were sparkling today.
