Saturday was a busy day. In the morning, we went to a FXAU event and in the afternoon Ryan had a birthday party to attend. We hit the road around 2:30 PM and headed straight for the Uintas. The plan was to camp out at Christmas Meadows, but it was getting late. We found a campsite as far into the Uintas as possible. Yellow Pine was completely open, but as you drove further and further the campsites were few and far between. Luckily we were able to find a campsite at Shady Dell. We set up camp, had dinner, and enjoyed an evening in our new fleece PJs by the fire roasting marshmallows. On Sunday, we spent 4 hours fishing at Butterfly Lake. The fish were going CRAZY for the spinners. At one point I got three fish to simultaneously strike my hook. It was so much fun watching these fish follow as I was reeling in going nuts. Afterwards, we went for a 3.5 mile hike out to Long Lake. As we were finishing up dinner, the sky all of a sudden got really ominous and dark. It started storming really bad, so Ryan made the decision to bail and head home early.
